OhSammi Research Notes is an independent research resource written by Zenya He. It documents emerging questions, case-based reflections, and prototyping work at the intersection of female visual identity, personal style, and human-centered artificial intelligence.

In these research notes, I explore a central question: how can artificial intelligence support more personal and meaningful visual decisions without reducing people to fixed categories or replacing human judgment?

Rather than treating clothing and personal style as matters of appearance alone, I approach them as forms of communication. What people wear can reflect identity, social context, aspiration, cultural background, and the degree of control they feel over how they are perceived.

Research Focus

My current interests include:

AI-mediated visual recommendation
Women’s visual identity and self-presentation
Personalization, explainability, trust, and user agency
Body perception, silhouette, color, and style classification
Human judgment in generative and recommendation systems
The relationship between cultural frameworks and computational models of personal style

The essays and research notes published here combine conceptual inquiry, professional reflection, prototype development, and case-based observation. They document questions in progress rather than presenting a finished theory.

About Zenya He

I am an independent researcher and creative strategist working at the intersection of fashion, media, digital products, and human-centered artificial intelligence.

My professional background began in fashion media. I later worked across brand strategy, public relations, fashion-related businesses, and digital product development.

In 2019, I participated in a cross-functional project exploring the use of Generative Adversarial Networks in clothing generation. My role was connected to fashion design execution and interdisciplinary collaboration rather than model development. That experience shifted my attention from the novelty of image generation toward a more human-centered question: how can generative technology help people make better and more personally relevant choices?

Current Research Prototype

My current project, AIFFD, is an evolving research prototype for personal style and visual recommendation. It examines how information about body structure, color characteristics, facial features, personal preferences, and social context might be combined to create a more interpretable recommendation process.

AIFFD is not presented as a finished or scientifically validated system. Instead, it serves as a working environment for investigating classification, personalization, cultural interpretation, explainability, and the continuing role of human expertise.

OhSammi is where I document the research questions and conceptual development behind this work. AIFFD is the experimental prototype through which some of these questions are explored.

Looking Ahead

I am developing this work into a broader research agenda spanning human–computer interaction, communication, and information science. I am particularly interested in how visual recommendation systems influence identity, trust, self-presentation, and user agency.

I welcome conversations with researchers, educators, designers, and potential collaborators interested in human-centered AI, visual identity, fashion technology, and personalized recommendation.
